What to see and do in Llocnou de la Corona

Llocnou de la Corona
Village
Llocnou de la Corona is the smallest municipality in L'Horta Sud and, with 0.0128 km², the smallest by area in Spain since 2022, according to the Valencian Cartographic Institute; it is conurbated with Alfafar. It began as a religious residence affiliated with the convent of the Corona de Jesús de Recoletos de San Francisco, founded in 1676 in Valencia: when the monks abandoned it, some farmers built houses around it, giving rise to a settlement that in the early 19th century managed to break away from Alfafar. On 29 October 2024 it suffered the effects of the DANA storm that devastated Valencia, with no victims but with damage. Its neo-Gothic church of the Virgen del Rosario began to be built on 17 December 1899 over an earlier hermitage and was inaugurated in 1904. It has 132 inhabitants (INE 2025).
