What to see and do in Sedaví

Sedaví
Village
Sedaví is a municipality in the comarca of L'Horta Sud, in the province of Valencia, only 5 kilometres from the centre of the capital and conurbated with Alfafar, Benetúser and Horno de Alcedo. Its name comes from the Arabic banī Sīdabī, “sons of Sidabí,” a family that founded around 1180 the alquería from which the settlement was born, on land reclaimed from the Albufera that until then had been marshes and wetlands. After the Christian conquest, James I granted lands within its territory to various knights and created the lordship of Sedaví. Its parish church, on plaza Jaume I, was designed by the architect Vicente Gascó following the model of a classical Roman basilica, with columns of the Ionic order.
