Uña de Quintana
Village
Uña de Quintana is a village in Zamora of 119 inhabitants, situated at 782 metres above sea level in the comarca of Benavente y Los Valles, already very close to Sanabria and watered by the Tera river. With mostly flat terrain, it is crossed from north to south by the Regato stream, which rises in Justel and flows into the Tera, and whose flow once powered the Samián mill and an oil mill. Among its houses, the parish church of San Justo y Pastor stands out, retaining 15th-century fabric, a Renaissance doorway with voussoirs decorated with balls, and a large Baroque altarpiece. The municipality has no archaeological sites that would pinpoint the origin of its first settlement, although the territory retains traces of prehistoric habitation.
