Pobladura del Valle
Village
Pobladura del Valle is a town in the comarca of Benavente y Los Valles, in the province of Zamora, situated in the valley of the Órbigo river, at an altitude of 748 metres. It is known in the area for the wine cellars on its outskirts, where tapas and local produce are served, and for its two museums, the Whisky Museum and the Naval Museum, which attract visitors from Benavente, León, Valladolid and Zamora. In the lower course of the Órbigo, which crosses the municipal area to its mouth in the Esla, important evidence of human presence from the Lower Palaeolithic has been found. With 269 inhabitants, at its August festival the young men grill some two thousand chorizo sandwiches on giant grills.
