What to see and do in Aldealices

Aldealices
Village
Aldealices is a Soria hamlet in the comarca of Almarza, on the banks of the río Merdancho, a tributary of the Duero, south of the sierra del Rodadero, within the Site of Community Importance of Oncala-Valtajeros. Born in the warmth of transhumant herders, in 1528 the Censo de Pecheros recorded 19 family units there, within the Sexmo de San Juan; by the mid-19th century it had 30 houses, according to Pascual Madoz. Its Gothic church of Santa María Magdalena holds a Romanesque baptismal font decorated with interlaced arches in relief. The festivities, from 13 to 15 August, include the pregón (opening speech), the Bailódromo and a fancy-dress contest, processions of the Magdalena and the Virgen del Rosario, and traditional games of skittles and tanguilla. It has 22 inhabitants today.
