Valleruela de Sepúlveda
Village
Valleruela de Sepúlveda is a municipality in the province of Segovia, within the Community of Town and Land of Sepúlveda, with 48 inhabitants and the hamlet of La Fuente. Resettled during the Reconquista, it is first recorded in 1204, in the Archivo Catedralicio de Segovia, as Valeriola de Sepulbega, then formed by the quarters of La Fuente and El Campillo; the latter, where the town hall and the parish were established, eventually gave its name to the municipality. It had 330 inhabitants in the mid-19th century. It preserves the Romanesque church of the Virgen del Barrio, houses of traditional architecture with Segovian esgrafiado plasterwork, and the ruins of the Torre del Cerro.
