Aldealcorvo
Village
Aldealcorvo is a hamlet of 15 inhabitants located about ten kilometers south of Sepúlveda, in whose territory caves believed to have been inhabited in antiquity and remains of Visigothic burials have been found. The río San Juan, also called the Prádena stream, a tributary of the Duratón, waters its fields. Its church, today dedicated to San Martín de Tours, was previously under the dedication of San Juan, a change perhaps related to the depopulation of the old settlements of San Martín de la Varga and La Aldehuela. It preserves a stone Way of the Cross and is one of the villages where gacería has been spoken, the traditional jargon of livestock dealers and threshers from the Ochavo de Cantalejo. On 11 November it celebrates its patron, San Martín, and on the second-to-last Saturday of August, its main festivities.
