What to see and do in Valdelageve

Valdelageve
Village
Valdelageve is a municipality of 66 inhabitants over 16 square kilometres, in the Sierra de Béjar, province of Salamanca, with a single population centre and limited communications due to its terrain. It arose around 1227, when King Alfonso IX of León created the council of Montemayor del Río, into which it was incorporated from the outset. In the mid-19th century it had 127 inhabitants, almost double today's figure. Its church is dedicated to the martyrs San Fabián and San Sebastián, whose festival, traditionally celebrated on 20 January, was moved to August to allow for the presence of the village's emigrants.

Activity
The Fiestas de los Mártires, dedicated to San Fabián and San Sebastián, titular saints of the church, were traditionally held on 20 January; today they have been moved to August so that the emigrants who return to the village in summer can attend.
