Sanchón de la Sagrada
Village
Sanchón de la Sagrada is a municipality in the Campo de Salamanca district, in the La Huebra sub-district, with an area of 15 square kilometres and 45 inhabitants. Its founding dates back to the resettlement carried out by the kings of León in the Middle Ages, when it was integrated, under the name Velasco Sanchón, into the Corvacera quarter of the jurisdiction of Salamanca, within the Kingdom of León. With the creation of the present-day provinces in 1833, it became part of the province of Salamanca, within the Leonese Region. In the mid-19th century it had 121 inhabitants, according to Madoz's Dictionary.
