Carrascal del Obispo is a municipality in the province of Salamanca, in the Campo de Salamanca or Campo Charro district, with 185 inhabitants spread over a municipal area of 40.97 km² that includes, besides Carrascal, the settlements of Huelmos and Casasolilla, Olleros, Pedro Martín and the two San Pedro Acerón. The place was called Aldea del Obispo from when Alfonso VII of León gave it to the Bishop of Salamanca on 3 January 1136, within the Corvacera quarter of the Salamancan jurisdiction; by the 15th century it already appears with its current name in the records. With the creation of the present-day provinces in 1833, it was placed within the province of Salamanca, within the Leonese Region.
