What to see and do in La Sagrada

La Sagrada
Village
La Sagrada is a municipality in Salamanca province (Castile and León), in the Campo de Salamanca district, within the La Huebra subdistrict, whose district brings together the settlements of La Sagrada, Anaya de Huebra and Carrascalejo de Huebra. Founded during the medieval resettlement by the kings of León, it already had its present name in the 13th century. The historic Carrascalejo, today Carrascalejo Viejo, was depopulated in the mid-20th century, and the present-day Carrascalejo de Huebra was created afterwards, in the 1960s, as part of the plans of the Instituto Nacional de Colonización. With 78 inhabitants, the municipality was marked by the Muñoz level-crossing accident of 1978, in which a school bus carrying children from the municipality was struck by a locomotive, leaving 32 dead and 61 injured.
