What to see and do in San Pedro de Rozados

San Pedro de Rozados
Village
San Pedro de Rozados, in the Campo de Salamanca (Campo Charro) district, spreads 273 inhabitants across 102 square kilometres and fifteen settlements, besides several depopulated hamlets. The village sits atop a small hill, its houses joined one to another. On the Vía de la Plata, in the Siete Carreras area, an inscription was found recording a repair to the road in the time of Nero; as a settlement it was already founded in the Middle Ages, with the resettlement by the kings of León, then placed within the quarter of Peña del Rey of the jurisdiction of Salamanca. It preserves the parish church of San Pedro, with a double row of arches on its bell-gable, and celebrates Saint Blaise on 3 February, Corpus Christi, and the summer or emigrant festivities.
Roman inscriptions of Siete Carreras
Monument
At the spot known as Siete Carreras Roman inscriptions linked to the Vía de la Plata are preserved, among them the one documenting the repair works on the road ordered during the reign of the emperor Nero.
