Martinamor
Village
Martinamor is a Salamancan municipality of 91 inhabitants whose territory, at 956 metres above sea level on a plateau of the Meseta Norte, is divided among Cuatro Calzadas, Martillán, Matamala, Revilla and the village itself, in the Tierra de Alba comarca. Documented as Martín Amor within the cuarto de Allende el Río of the jurisdiction of Alba de Tormes, its hamlets of Revilla and Matamala already existed in the 13th century under the names of Ribileya and Matamala. After the closure of the railway line of the Vía de la Plata, which had a station in neighbouring Alba de Tormes, the municipality was left without regular public transport. Its church is dedicated to the Asunción.
