Buenavista
Village
Buenavista is a municipality in the Tierra de Alba comarca, in the province of Salamanca, whose municipal area, a little over 27 square kilometres, is divided among the hamlets of Buenavista, Caloco, Coto de Don Luis, Cuatro Calzadas, Los Majadales, Terrados and Vaqueril. Founded during the medieval resettlement by the kings of León, it was first called Bozigas and later Pocilgas, a name it kept until it was replaced in 1910 by the present-day Buenavista. Located in the Tormes valley, among hills exceeding 1,000 metres, it is crossed by the Autovía Ruta de la Plata and the N-630 road, 25 kilometres from the Salamancan capital. It has around 350 inhabitants.
