What to see and do in Piedratajada

Piedratajada
Village
Piedratajada is a municipality of the Cinco Villas, in Zaragoza, dating from around the year 1092: according to oral tradition, King Sancho Ramírez fought a battle here near Montaral, defeated the Muslims and incorporated the town into the Kingdom of Aragon. It achieved municipal independence in the 19th century, after belonging to Murillo de Gállego, and included the territory of Marracos for much of the 19th and 20th centuries. Its church of San Sebastián holds works now deposited in the Diocesan Museum of Jaca, and in its territory remains of the San Melorge settlement have been found, occupied from the Neolithic to Roman times, together with old copper-mining works. With 96 inhabitants (INE 2025), it celebrates its main festivities on 31 August, in honour of San Ramón Nonato.
