What to see and do in Las Pedrosas

Las Pedrosas
Village
Las Pedrosas is a municipality of the comarca of the Cinco Villas, in the north-west of the province of Zaragoza, set on the northern slope of the Muela del Castellar and with 118 inhabitants. It is documented since 1249, when its castle, then owned by the monastery of Montearagón, was exchanged for that of Santa Eulalia; in 1269 James I exchanged it with the bishop of Zaragoza for lands of the Kingdom of Valencia, and over the centuries it passed through the lordships of several families until, in 1598, it was bought by the Royal Monastery of Santa Engracia of Zaragoza, which came to charge its inhabitants annual rents in wheat, oats and escudos. In 1701 the monastery sold the place to the count of Berbedel, who returned it in 1712, unable to pacify it. It preserves an ice well dug next to the church to store the ice gathered in winter from the local ponds.
