What to see and do in Ardisa

Ardisa
Village
Ardisa is a municipality of the Cinco Villas, at the southwestern edge of the comarca, in the province of Zaragoza, Aragón, about 70 km from the capital. It lies beside the Ardisa reservoir, built in 1932 on the Gállego river and named after it, and has about 73 inhabitants. It preserves the castle of Ballestar, with an 11th-century crenellated tower raised by King Sancho Ramírez, along with two Romanesque hermitages: that of San Vicente, whose crucified Christ is displayed in the Diocesan Museum of Jaca, and that of Nuestra Señora de Miramonte, from the 12th century. Ardisa was the birthplace of Ramón Torralba, an FC Barcelona player in the 1920s who, together with Samitier and Sancho, formed one of the best midfields in the club's history.
