What to see and do in Serranillos del Valle

Serranillos del Valle
Village
Serranillos del Valle is a village in the south of the Community of Madrid, between Fuenlabrada, Humanes and Griñón to the north and Carranque, already in Toledo, to the south, with 4,670 inhabitants. In 1480 it was incorporated into the sexmo of Casarrubios, which together with that of Valdemoro formed the lordship of Chinchón, created by the Catholic Monarchs in favour of Andrés de Cabrera and his wife Beatriz de Bobadilla as a reward for defending Segovia in favour of the future Isabella the Catholic; the countship later passed, by inheritance, to the family of Manuel Godoy. Until the 1916 reform the municipality was simply called Serranillos. Its parish is dedicated to San Nicolás de Bari, and the village honours San Roque every August.
