Nulles
Village
Nulles is a town in the comarca of Alt Camp, in the province of Tarragona, located on the road from Tarragona to the monastery of Santes Creus, with its own railway station. Documented since 1165, it preserves remains of its old castle, of which only one wall with opus spicatum stonework survives. With 551 inhabitants, its economy is based on agriculture, chiefly the vine and cava production, as well as poultry farms. The town is known for the winery of the Sindicat Agrícola de Sant Isidre, a Modernista building by the architect Cèsar Martinell completed in 1919. The parish church, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, has a slender bell tower and was rebuilt in the 16th century. The festa major is celebrated on the last Saturday of July.
