What to see and do in Bovera

Bovera
Village
Bovera is a small municipality in the Lleida comarca of Les Garrigues, in Catalonia, situated in its southern part, right on the border with the province of Tarragona. It has 244 inhabitants, compared with the 848 it had in 1910. It preserves the church of Sant Josep and a heritage linked to water and oil: the water ponds of the municipal area, the oil mill and various places such as el més del Senyor or the racó de les Paumeres. Among its hiking routes are notable the path that follows the riu de la Cana and the one that arrives from la Granadella along the camí de la Palma, routes that allow visitors to cross the dry-farming agricultural landscape characteristic of the comarca.
Church of Bovera
Monument
Church of Sant Josep, neoclassical, from the late 19th century, with a single nave and side chapels, built over an earlier 13th-14th-century Romanesque church, from which stones were reused, including the transitional Romanesque-style side door; the octagonal bell tower is the work of Fèlix de Móra d'Ebre.
