What to see and do in Premià de Dalt

Premià de Dalt
Village
Premià de Dalt is a municipality of 10,632 inhabitants (INE 2025) located at 142 metres of altitude, at the foot of the Sant Mateu mountain range, in a small valley of the coastal Litoral range facing the sea, in the Maresme comarca, province of Barcelona. The Iberian settlement of the Cadira del Bisbe dates from the late 5th century BC; the Romans later established there the Vila Primiliana, from which its name derives. Known as Santa Anastasia until the 13th century and later as San Pedro de Premiá, it took its current Catalan name in the early 1980s. Until 1836 the municipal area extended to the sea, a strip that eventually became independent as Premià de Mar.
Church of Sant Pere de Premià de Dalt
Monument
Parish church of Premià de Dalt dedicated to Sant Pere, in late Gothic style, with a square plan, a single nave with side chapels, a polygonal apse and a tower belfry. The first record of the parish dates from the 10th century, although the original Romanesque church was replaced by the current building in 1588. During the Civil War it suffered serious damage and the 15th-century altarpiece was lost. Premià de Dalt lies in a small valley of the Litoral mountain range, facing the sea, between Teià and Vilassar de Dalt.
