What to see and do in Morales del Vino

Morales del Vino
Village
Morales del Vino is a municipality in the province of Zamora, in the comarca of Tierra del Vino, located nine kilometres from the provincial capital, beside the Ruta de la Plata motorway. Its municipal area, with flat relief and the river terraces of the Duero valley, includes the hamlet of Pontejos, considered one of the oldest villages in the south of the province. The municipality has 3,040 inhabitants and has tripled its population since 1990, when it barely reached 1,200, thanks to the development of residential areas close to Zamora. Its church of la Asunción, completed in 1522, preserves on its north doorway a rare example of Plateresque work in the province.
