Entrala
Village
Entrala is a Zamora hamlet of 133 inhabitants, very close to the provincial capital, set on a bank overlooking the Duero valley, on clay and pebble soils suited to the traditional vineyards of the Tierra del Vino comarca, from which it probably takes its name as the last village on the Vía de la Plata before Zamora. It belonged to the former Partido del Vino of the province. Its parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, of recent construction but in keeping with its surroundings, holds an 18th-century main altarpiece with a Christ flanked by San Joaquín and Santa Ana, as well as images of San Antonio de Padua, San Antonio Abad, Santa Águeda and Santa Bárbara. Beside it stands a 16th-century granite cross.
