What to see and do in Villardefrades

Villardefrades
Village
Villardefrades is a village in the Tierra de Campos of Valladolid, 65 kilometres from the capital and crossed by the Autovía del Noroeste. Its territory, flat with some undulations descending from the montes Torozos toward the río Sequillo, reaches 735 metres in the village and rises above 830 at the Monte de Almaraz, to the southeast. Its neoclassical church of San Andrés was never finished: it was commissioned in 1751 by friar Andrés González Cano, a native of the village and bishop of Nueva Cáceres, who died before the works were completed. On a nearby hill remain the ruins of three mills. It has around 145 inhabitants, against 652 in the mid-19th century.
