Nepas
Village
Nepas is a locality in the comarca of Almazán, in the province of Soria, with 49 inhabitants (INE 2025) across 25.13 km². It has a church under the patronage of San Adrián: its Romanesque apse was built in the late 12th or early 13th century, and in the 15th century an ogee arch was added bearing the coats of arms of Pedro González de Mendoza, bishop of Sigüenza. It belonged to the sexmo de la Sierra of the Comunidad de Villa y Tierra de Almazán. At El Molinillo there was a Celtiberian settlement with habitation reoccupied during the 3rd and 4th centuries, and remains survive from the Middle Ages at the depopulated site of the Granja de Almonacid. In 1753 the village had 32 inhabitants, including 25 farmers, and a hospital for poor travellers.
