What to see and do in Viana de Duero

Viana de Duero
Village
Viana de Duero is a municipality of 47 inhabitants in the district of Almazán (Soria), which brings together the settlements of Viana, Baniel, La Milana, Moñux and Perdices, incorporated into its municipal area between the 1842 and 1857 censuses. Until the 1916 naming reform the municipality was simply called Viana. Its church is dedicated to San Bartolomé and historically belonged to the bishopric of Sigüenza, in the archpriesthood of Almazán, before becoming part of the diocese of Osma, which in turn comes under the archdiocese of Burgos. Part of its municipal area, along the banks of the Duero and its tributaries, is protected within the Natura 2000 network.
The 1239 inscription of San Bartolomé
Monument
The parish church is a late Romanesque building remodelled in the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries; an ashlar of its apse bears the date 1239 engraved, which is taken as the reference for dating the construction of the Romanesque church.
