Maján
Village
Maján is one of the most shrunken municipalities in the province of Soria, with barely ten inhabitants across 30 km² of dry farmland within the judicial district of Almazán; it belongs to the diocese of Osma, within the archdiocese of Burgos. Its church is dedicated to the Purísima Concepción. In the 1842 census the place still had 71 households and 286 inhabitants, and by the mid-19th century it had about 75 houses, a measure of the emptying out the comarca of Almazán has suffered ever since.
