What to see and do in Villaverde de Montejo

Villaverde de Montejo
Village
Villaverde de Montejo is a municipality of the former Community of Town and Land of Sepúlveda, in the province of Segovia, with the hamlet of Villalvilla de Montejo and barely 22 inhabitants, one of the lowest population densities in the province. In the mid-19th century it had 110 inhabitants, according to Madoz's Dictionary. It preserves its old forge, now turned into a museum, dug-out cellars, a washhouse and façades with Segovian sgraffito, as well as the parish church of Santa Cecilia; three kilometres away lie the remains of the deserted medieval village of Pinilla de Arcos. Its feasts are those of San Antonio, the patronal feast, on 13 June, San Roque on 16 August and Santa Cecilia on 22 November.
