Pardilla
Village
Pardilla is a municipality of 109 inhabitants in the south of the province of Burgos, on the border with Segovia, at an altitude of 902 metres, in the Ribera del Duero comarca. At least six Bronze Age settlements have been located within its boundaries, and the first document mentioning the town, then called Pardiella, dates from 1130. It became a town in 1655, the year in which the jurisdictional rollo still preserved today was erected, a stone cross on a square base that once stood at the village exit on the Camino Real and today occupies the square; it was restored in the 1980s after being partially destroyed. The village celebrates its festivals on 2 July, for Saint Elizabeth, and on 29 August, for the Beheading of Saint John.
