Grajera
Village
Grajera is a town in the province of Segovia, near the Autovía del Norte, which has belonged since its medieval founding or repopulation to the Comunidad de Villa y Tierra de Sepúlveda, in the ochavo of Bercimuel. Its church of San Vitores, of baroque design influenced by the one built at the Real Sitio de San Ildefonso, preserves a Romanesque baptismal font and a gilded silver monstrance made in 1768 by the Segovian silversmith Ignacio Álvarez Arintero; beside it, the rollo de justicia or pillory is likewise protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection). With about 252 inhabitants, it is among the towns that have grown the most in northeastern Segovia over the last decade, thanks to active and adventure tourism.
