Boceguillas
Village
Boceguillas is a town in the province of Segovia that includes the settlements of Turrubuelo, independent until 1976, and Aldeanueva del Campanario. It was included in the broad alfoz that the charter granted by Alfonso VI to Sepúlveda fixed in 1076, within the ochavo of Bercimuel, and appears cited as Bozichellas in 1109. Its medieval growth was due to the passage through its town center of the Camino Real de Bayona, which provided it with inns, post houses and taverns. Philip II granted it town status in 1565, making it independent from Sepúlveda, and in the following century the church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario was built, around which the town center relocated. With about 746 inhabitants, it is growing today thanks to its position beside the autovía del Norte.
