Fuentidueña
Village
Fuentidueña is a town of about 125 inhabitants, declared a historic site, built above the narrow valley formed by the Duratón river at the northern tip of the province of Segovia, a location that explains its importance during the Middle Ages. The settlement was originally located at the top of the slope, around the castle and the church of San Martín, and over time it shifted towards the riverbank, where already in the Middle Ages the area of the bridge and the Romanesque church of Santa María were vital. It preserves the ruins of its castle, a walled precinct with three gates, the ruined church of San Martín and the medieval hospital of la Magdalena.
