What to see and do in Fuentepiñel

Fuentepiñel
Village
Fuentepiñel is a hamlet in the province of Segovia, at its northern tip, with barely twelve square kilometres of territory and 63 inhabitants. Within it the village of San Mamés became depopulated, already empty by 1789, and in the mid-19th century Pascual Madoz still counted 185 residents in Fuentepiñel. Its climate, continentalized Mediterranean, with long, cold winters and short, hot summers, is summed up in the Castilian saying 'nine months of winter and three of hell'. Its heraldic coat of arms and flag were officially approved on 30 May 2001. It preserves the church dedicated to San Nicolás de Bari.
