San Miguel de Bernuy
Village
San Miguel de Bernuy is a village in the province of Segovia, part of the Community of Town and Land of Fuentidueña, situated at the tail of the Vencías reservoir, on the Duratón river. Its name already appears in the 14th-century Libro Becerro de las Behetrías de Castilla as Sant Micael de Bernuille, and within its municipal boundary lie the deserted villages of Bernuy and Sarasona. It lies at the northern tip of the province, on what is considered the shortest route between the holy sites of Caravaca de la Cruz and Santo Toribio de Liébana, and has a continentalized Mediterranean climate, with long, cold winters and short, hot summers. It has about 119 inhabitants.
