What to see and do in Corral de Ayllón

Corral de Ayllón
Village
Corral de Ayllón is a municipality of about 76 inhabitants in the former Land of Ayllón, in the province of Segovia, which was known simply as el Corral until the 19th century, when the surname Ayllón was added to it. Within its boundary lies the deserted village of Aldiñigo, already uninhabited before the 16th century, and the La Nava aerodrome, built during the Civil War by the rebel side, with the support of the German air force, as an alternative base for the operations of the Condor Legion. Devoted today to private flying, and in particular to gliding, the aerodrome was until 2013 the seat of the Fundación Milicia Aérea Universitaria, managed by the Fundación Vara del Rey, and reopened in 2023 for gliding.
