Carabias
Village
Carabias is a municipality in the province of Segovia that brings together the villages of Carabias, Ciruelos and Pradales, each once belonging to a different community of town and land: Maderuelo, Sepúlveda and Montejo, respectively. It has about 55 inhabitants. The municipality was called Pradales until 2016, when the town council decided to change its name to Carabias, its most populous settlement. Although they form a single municipality, each village keeps its own feasts: Carabias celebrates san Juan Degollado on the last weekend of August, Ciruelos the Virgin of the Nativity, and Pradales san Bartolomé. On the hill of Carabias, the Celtiberian site of Los Quemados is being excavated, where vessels, stones, tools and bones have been found.
