Navares de las Cuevas
Village
Navares de las Cuevas is a village of 22 inhabitants in the former Comunidad de Villa y Tierra de Sepúlveda, within whose Ochavo de las Pedrizas y Valdenavares it was placed after the medieval repopulation; in the mid-19th century it had 165 inhabitants. It preserves the church of San Mamés, the hermitage of the Virgen del Barrio and the palace of the marquises of Revilla. Its festivities, in honor of San Mamés, begin on 16 August with the traditional pingada del mayo, and at the end of that month the festival of Hortezuela is also celebrated, a depopulated place where a ruined hermitage remains.
