What to see and do in Tordillos

Tordillos
Village
Tordillos is a locality in the province of Salamanca, in the comarca of the Tierra de Peñaranda, with about 305 inhabitants over a territory of 25 square kilometres. A Vettonian verraco, now lost, attests that the territory was already settled in pre-Roman times. The locality was born as Tordiellos during the medieval repopulation carried out by the kings of León, and was placed within the jurisdiction of Alba de Tormes, within the Kingdom of León. With the creation of the provinces in 1833 it became part of the province of Salamanca, within the partido of Peñaranda de Bracamonte, a demarcation to which it still belongs as part of the comarca of the Tierra de Peñaranda and the Margañán Mancomunidad.
The lost verraco of Tordillos
Curiosity
The existence of a Vettone verraco, today vanished, is documented in the municipal district, proof of the pre-Roman settlement of these lands before the kings of León resettled the place under the name of Tordiellos.
