What to see and do in Tarazona de Guareña

Tarazona de Guareña
Village
Tarazona de Guareña is a municipality of about 260 inhabitants in the Salamancan comarca of the Tierra de Peñaranda, born of the repopulation carried out by the kings of León in the Middle Ages, when it was placed in the cuarto of Villoria of the jurisdiction of Salamanca. In the 13th century it appears documented as Taraçona, possibly because people from the Aragonese city of Tarazona took part in its repopulation; the second name of Guareña, after the river in whose valley it sits, was officially added on 2 July 1916. The village celebrates its festivities on 29 September, for San Miguel Arcángel, with bull runs through the streets and countryside, bullfights and the traditional peñas of friends.
The bull runs of San Miguel
Activity
The festivals of 29 September revolve around bull events: bull runs through the streets and across the countryside, in which numerous riders drive the animals to the square, and open heifer runs for anyone who dares to jump into the ring.
