What to see and do in Tremedal de Tormes

Tremedal de Tormes
Village
Tremedal de Tormes is a municipality in the Salamanca district of Tierra de Ledesma, with 34 inhabitants divided among Peñalvo, Trabadillo and Tremedal itself. Archaeological remains show settlement predating the village's founding, already in the Bronze Age, from which comes the piece known as the Guerrero de Tremedal (Warrior of Tremedal), and Roman presence has also been documented within the municipality. The present-day Tremedal dates back to the medieval repopulation under King Alfonso VI of León, when it was included in the Alfoz de Ledesma, later coming under the dependency of the Count of Ledesma. With the creation of the provinces in 1833 it was incorporated into that of Salamanca. In Peñalvo the Santo Ángel de La Guardia parish church is preserved.
The church of the Holy Guardian Angel
Monument
In the annexed village of Peñalvo stands the parish church dedicated to the Holy Guardian Angel, a rare dedication in the province. The municipality, with Trabadillo and Tremedal, barely adds up to thirty-seven inhabitants.
