Valdecarros
Village
Valdecarros is a municipality in the comarca of Tierra de Alba, in the province of Salamanca, with about 295 inhabitants, whose 27-square-kilometre municipal area extends in a single settlement. It was repopulated by the kings of León in the Middle Ages, integrated into the Cantalberque quarter of the jurisdiction of Alba de Tormes, and with the creation of the present-day provinces in 1833 it was placed within Salamanca, in the former Región Leonesa. In the mid-19th century it had 333 inhabitants, more than today. Its church is dedicated to San Vicente Mártir.
