Pedraza de Alba
Village
Pedraza de Alba is a municipality in the Salamancan comarca of Tierra de Alba whose municipal area includes, besides the village, the deserted hamlet of Gómez Velasco. It is believed to have been resettled by people from the Segovian town of Pedraza, from which it took its name, while being placed within the cuarto de Cantalberque of the jurisdiction of Alba de Tormes, within the former Kingdom of León. In the mid-19th century it had barely 130 inhabitants; today it has around 215. The town preserves a church dedicated to San Juan Bautista.
