Navales
Village
Navales is a municipality in the province of Salamanca, in the Tierra de Alba comarca, with around 310 inhabitants divided between the capital and the hamlet of Revilleja, over 17.17 square kilometres. Founded during the medieval resettlement by the kings of León, it appears then documented as Nabares, a name suggesting resettlement by people from Navarre, and was included in the cuarto de Cantalberque, within the jurisdiction of Alba de Tormes. As part of that alfoz it passed in 1430 to the Lordship of Alba, later raised to the Duchy of Alba, and with the creation of today's provinces in 1833 it was placed within Salamanca, within the partido judicial of Alba de Tormes until its disappearance. In the mid-19th century it had 214 inhabitants.
