Sieteiglesias de Tormes
Village
Sieteiglesias de Tormes is a municipality in the comarca of Tierra de Alba, in the province of Salamanca, with about 190 inhabitants, formed by the town of Sieteiglesias and the hamlet of Pedro Martín. It appears in medieval documentation as Siet Ecclesias, as part of the repopulation by the kings of León, placed within the Allende el Río quarter of the jurisdiction of Alba de Tormes; already by the 15th century it is documented under its current name. In the mid-19th century it had 106 inhabitants. It is served by the SA-114 road, which links it to Alba de Tormes to the northeast and to Fresno de Alhándiga to the southwest, where it connects with the N-630 and the Ruta de la Plata dual carriageway; it has no train and no regular bus line, and the nearest airport, Salamanca's, is 27 kilometres away.
