What to see and do in Navalmoral de Béjar

Navalmoral de Béjar
Village
Navalmoral de Béjar is a municipality in the province of Salamanca (Castile and León), in the comarca of the Sierra de Béjar, born of the medieval repopulations and belonging since 1209 to the Comunidad de Villa y Tierra de Béjar. With the creation of the provinces in 1833 it was placed within Salamanca, in the Región Leonesa. With 57 inhabitants, compared with 121 in the mid-19th century, it keeps alive mountain customs such as omelette day, when the village climbs up to the La Corbera crag, as well as the grape harvest and pig slaughter in the old way. Its church is dedicated to San Bartolomé Apóstol.
Tortilla Day
Activity
Among the most deeply rooted customs is the day of the omelette, when the residents climb the peña of La Corbera and share there the omelettes made with potatoes from the village's huerta plots; the traditional grape harvest and pig slaughter are also kept up.
