What to see and do in Sancti-Spíritus

Sancti-Spíritus
Village
Sancti-Spíritus is a town in the comarca of Ciudad Rodrigo, in the province of Salamanca, part of the sub-comarca of the Campo de Yeltes within the Campo Charro. Its territory, of 141.90 km², the third largest in the province, is watered by the Gavilanes and Yeltes rivers, the latter separating it from Martín de Yeltes and Retortillo, over stony soils poorly suited to farming. It preserves the Abrigo de Camaces, a Neolithic settlement declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1983, along with other sites on the banks of the Yeltes, such as El Lombo or El Basalito, with remains of Acheulean industry, and late Roman or Visigothic settlements such as Las Lastras, of mining origin. Its Iglesia Vieja, dating from around 1475, revealed a horseshoe arch when it was restored. It has around 713 inhabitants.
