What to see and do in Campillo de Azaba

Campillo de Azaba
Village
Campillo de Azaba is a hamlet in the province of Salamanca, in the comarca of Ciudad Rodrigo and the Campo de Argañán sub-comarca, with about 146 inhabitants. Unlike the neighbouring villages, which arose from the medieval resettlement driven by the kings of León, Campillo de Azaba came from a later settlement, already in the Early Modern period, next to the deserted hamlet of Martinfernando, which did have a medieval origin. In 1833, with the creation of the provinces, it was placed within Salamanca, within the former Leonese Region. It has no major monuments: it has a church built in the 20th century, a bullring and a retirees' club. It celebrates San Antonio from 12 to 14 June and San Sebastián on 20 January.
