Galindo y Perahuy
Village
Galindo y Perahuy is a municipality in the Campo de Salamanca (Campo Charro) made up of nine settlements — among them El Encinar, Escobos, La Rad, Miranda de Pericalvo, San Benito de la Valmuza and Torre de Martín Pascual — and watered by the Valmuza stream. Its district preserves four megalithic monuments, two dolmens and two chambers, among the highest concentrations in the Campo de Salamanca, and nearby, at San Julián de la Valmuza, there is a Roman villa. With around 713 inhabitants, it preserves a 12th-century baptismal font. On the eve of Saint Lucy, its patron saint, the village gathers around a bonfire, and on Shrove Tuesday the town council offers sausage and cheese.
