What to see and do in Calzada de Don Diego

Calzada de Don Diego
Village
Calzada de Don Diego, with 127 inhabitants spread across five settlements — Calzada, Carnero, El Tejado, El Vecino and La Estación —, lies in the Campo de Salamanca district, 22 km from the provincial capital. It was called Caniellas de Calçada when it was founded, in the Middle Ages, within the quarter of Baños of the jurisdiction of Salamanca; by the mid-19th century it had 195 inhabitants. It retains the castle of El Tejado, the tower next to its church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, another church in Carnero and a former railway station between Calzada and Castrejón.
