Revenga de Campos
Village
Revenga de Campos is a municipality in the province of Palencia, on the Camino Francés de Santiago between Frómista and Carrión de los Condes, with around 125 inhabitants, against the 840 it had in 1900. Charles V spent the night here on 30 October 1517, in a country house surrounded by water that was reached by a drawbridge. It preserves the church of San Lorenzo, from the 13th century and remodelled in the 16th, with altarpieces from the 17th and 18th centuries and a 15th-century image of the Virgen del Peregrino, as well as blazoned houses from the 16th century, one of which lodged the emperor. On the main square stands the tomb of Bartolomé Amor de Pisa, a general born in the village in 1785 who fought in the Peninsular War and in the Carlist wars.
